Nissan has introduced an all-new Altima for the 2019 model year. This new and improved midsize sedan takes significant steps forward in performance, styling, technology, and more. 

The 2019 Altima has been redesigned from the top down. The most obvious changes are on the outside, where a sharper, more aggressive look has taken over. Changes continue on the inside, where Nissan has tweaked the space for enhanced comfort and versatility. Perhaps the most significant changes are underneath the surface, however, where a new chassis and new powertrains help the Altima enter a new era of performance.

2019 Nissan Altima Performance

Some important performance developments have arrived for the 2019 Altima. Drivers near The Villages and Apopka can look forward to improvements in power, efficiency, and handling.

Drivetrain: Previous Altima models have traditionally come in front-wheel drive. While this remains the standard layout for the 2019 model, the new Altima now offers available all-wheel drive for the first time.

Chassis: Nissan has completely redesigned both steering and suspension in the new 2019 Altima. The result is improved handling across the board. Whether you're looking for comfort or agility, you can get both in this new and improved sedan.

Engines: Two new engines are available. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder with direct injection has 188 horsepower and allows for up to 39 mpg highway. The big news, however, is with the all-new variable compression turbo engine. This powerplant can change its compression to adjust to your performance needs. On one end, it offers a meaty 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. On the other end, its variable compression allows for up to 34 mpg highway.

Performance Technology: Active Ride Control, Intelligent Trace Control, and Hill Start Assist all contribute to a smooth, predictable, and direct ride in the new 2019 Altima.

As with the rest of the vehicle, Nissan completely redesigned the Altima's interior for 2019. The new space offers improved comfort and flexibility. Both the front and back seats offer impressive comfort with robust bolstering and supple upholstery materials.
