Nissan Business Vehicle Tax Deduction

If you own a small to medium-sized business and are interested in expanding your fleet of company vehicles, or are planning to take your services on the road, you may be eligible for a tax deduction. Section 179 of the IRS tax code states that businesses are allowed to deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment purchased or financed during the tax year.

So, if you buy or lease a piece of qualifying equipment, you can deduct the entire purchase price from your gross income. Your business must use your Nissan model for business at least 50% of the time. The U.S. government created Section 179 to help small to medium-sized businesses invest in themselves. These vehicles/equipment only need to be new to your business as the tax benefit applies to both new and used vehicles as long as they meet the requirements.

  • Your business may qualify for a federal income tax deduction up to 100% of the purchase price of a new Nissan truck or van purchased and placed in service in 2021. Qualifying vehicles must have had a gross vehicle weight rating of over 6,000 pounds. This includes a Nissan Titan and NV Cargo Van.
  • Your business may qualify for a federal income tax deduction up to $18,100 of the purchase price of Nissan models (that don’t qualify for the 100% depreciation deduction) when purchased and placed in service in 2022.

Section 179 allows you to write off the entire purchase of your equipment (new Nissan Business and Fleet vehicles) for the current tax year. This tax code helps small to medium-sized businesses purchase vehicles they need and allows them to get the needed vehicles promptly.
