One engine powers the whole lineup: a direct-injection 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with Nissan's VC-Turbo technology, which varies the compression ratio between 8.0:1 and 14.0:1. It makes 201 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 225 lb-ft of torque from 2,800 to 4,000 rpm on regular unleaded, and Nissan says that is the most standard torque of any gas engine in its class.

Power reaches the pavement through the Xtronic CVT, which includes a manual shift mode. S, SV, and Dark Armor offer front-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, Rock Creek and Platinum make AWD standard, and AWD models add Snow and Off-Road to the Auto, Eco, and Sport modes.

S, SV, Dark Armor, and Rock Creek models build the dash around an 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display in the cluster. From the SV up, two rear USB-C charging ports join the two up front, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot and Remote Engine Start with Intelligent Climate Control, a welcome feature on a July afternoon in Lake County.

Platinum moves to a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen with Google built-in, bringing Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play once NissanConnect Services is activated. It adds a 12.3-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and 10-speaker Bose Premium Audio with a Dual Driver Subwoofer.

Every 2027 Rogue comes with Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intersection Assist, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Driver Alertness, and High Beam Assist. Rear Door Alert is standard too, a useful reminder for parents juggling school pickup in Fruitland Park.

ProPILOT Assist, a hands-on driver-assistance system, arrives on the SV and above with Intelligent Cruise Control with full speed range and hold, Intelligent Lane Intervention, and Blind Spot Intervention. Dark Armor, Rock Creek, and Platinum add Rear Automatic Braking for the full Nissan Safety Shield 360 set, plus an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor that Platinum upgrades to a 3D version.

Nissan fits what it calls class-exclusive Zero Gravity seats in the front and rear outboard positions, and the reclining 60/40-split second row has its own A/C vents. Cargo space measures 31.6 cubic feet behind the second row on S, SV, Dark Armor, and Rock Creek, 36.5 on Platinum with Divide-N-Hide in the low position, and 74.1 with the second row folded.

Materials climb with the grades, from Charcoal cloth on the S and premium cloth with an 8-way power driver's seat on the SV to Prima-Tex leatherette on Dark Armor. Platinum finishes the range with quilted, perforated semi-aniline leather-appointed seats in Charcoal or Chestnut.
