The 2025 Nissan Frontier receives a higher maximum tow rating of 7,150 pounds for the S 4x2 configuration, which is a 510-pound increase from the truck’s previous 6,640-pound max tow rating. Towing capacity varies by configuration, but all grades and configurations include a towing capacity increase of around 500 pounds compared to the 2024 Frontier. The 2025 Frontier’s SV 4x2 configuration has a 7,130-lb max towing capacity, and S 4x4 and SV 4x4 options get a 7,000-lb max towing capacity.

The new 2025 Nissan Frontier is powered by the same responsive 3.8-liter direct-injected V6 engine producing up to 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. The 2025 Frontier’s engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and includes Idle Stop/Start, and Active Brake Limited Slip is standard on all grades. Frontier is available with rear-wheel drive or part-time 4-wheel drive, while Trailer Sway Control and Tow/Haul Mode help make towing easier.

The 2025 Frontier’s PRO-X and PRO-4X models are ready to take on anything with Bilstein shocks, grippy all-terrain tires and Lava Red tow hooks, while PRO-4X is equipped with underbody skid plates for protection along with an electronic locking rear differential that provides added traction for maximum capability. Frontier PRO-4X’s Intelligent Around View Monitor is more effective as well, and the Off-Road Mode viewing function can now be used while driving at up to 12 mph, which covers more range and helps you spot obstacles.
