Recently, it was announced that the 2017 Nissan Altima sedan had earned the top score among mid-size cars in the Strategic Vision Total Quality Impact (TQI) Awards. This report, the 23rd annual, is based on the New Vehicle Experience Study results -- which surveys more than 42,000 new vehicle buyers after their first 90 days of vehicle ownership.

The Altima's score was more than 60 points higher than the segment average, due in no small part to the vehicle's seat comfort, interior design, interior versatility and considerate engineering. Study editors praised the Altima for delivering the experience buyers hoped for when they initially purchased the vehicle.

Strategic Vision says that their TQI score incorporates positive as well as negative vehicle experiences, including reliability, driving enjoyment, vehicle problems and other measures that incorporate owners' emotional responses.
